2. Membership Guidelines
Before being admitted as a member, all applicants need to fill up and submit a Questionnaire (link present in the mail you received) about themselves and submit it to their Zonal head.
Membership approvals are based on auditions taken by the Zonal committee and at the discretion of the Central Committee.
Membership renewal fees to be paid on 1st April of the relevant financial year.
Members joining after October have to pay minimum 6 months membership fees, and those joining after January have to pay minimum 3 months membership fees.
Fees are payable only by cheque in favour of Indian Whistlers’ Association.
Membership fees are subject to revision from time to time.
Participation at any public event requires minimum 3 months Elite membership prior to event, in addition to selection by Zonal committee.
Participation at any public event requires minimum 50% attendance at meetings, and 75% at practice sessions.
Participation at any public event is on merit and rotation basis and is a privilege for whistlers and not their right. Elite membership does not automatically guarantee participation in shows.
All elite members are expected to stand up for the cause of spreading whistling and strengthening the association by shouldering responsibilities like arranging venues, selling tickets, getting sponsors and helping the committee in organizing such events when required.
IWA will share some part of the net profit from an event with the participating member in that event at the discretion of the National Committee.
Members of IWA earning any income by way of private shows must contribute some part of the income (at the discretion of the National Committee) towards IWA development.
The detailed IWA bye-laws, rules and regulations, are available for purview with the respective Zonal heads.
